I know I’m supposed to do an “About Me” page, but I’m not very good at that. I’m much better at answering questions.
Here are a few I get asked all the time:
Whatever I’m interested in! Which is a pretty broad category.
Will there be pictures of babies and/or cats?
No. No there will not.
Babies and cats are both delightful, but you’ll have to get your photo fix somewhere else.
How did you get into fire-juggling?
Wha-? No, I…Who told you that?
I’m a teacher. I help middle- and high schoolers do things they thought they couldn’t.
I can’t juggle, but I have made a lot of powerpoints. A lot.
Would you ever go back to China?
In a heartbeat. Honestly, I saw myself working in China til I retired. I loved it.
Plot twist: In 2016, I met a man I loved even more. He lives in the US, so now I do, too! I thought he was pretty great when I married him, but he just keeps getting better. It was a tough choice, but I would absolutely do it again.
Do you pour the cereal or the milk first?
Cereal. How else would I know how much milk is enough?
Have you ever been a national champion in an obscure sport?
You wouldn’t believe how often people ask this.
Now that you mention it, though, I have! In 2016, I played for Underwater Hockey Beijing and we won the China Cup. I have the medal. They carved my name in the giant underwater hockey stick with the rest of my teammates. It was an incredible experience.
